WhisperGames and developer Dank Hearts have unveiled Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo, a narrative-driven puzzle game set to launch on PC via Steam this year. The announcement was made during Indie Live Expo, accompanied by the release of the game’s first official trailer (available below).
Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo introduces players to a high-stakes escape scenario, where a boy and girl awaken in a sealed underground tunnel with no memory of how they arrived. As water begins to rise, the pair must solve intricate puzzles and rediscover lost memories to survive. Their journey unfolds in a decaying metropolis where six teenagers must confront both external dangers and the emotional weight of their pasts.
Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo aims to deliver between 15 to 20 hours of narrative content and puzzle gameplay. Players will face a wide range of challenges, including colour-matching tasks, music theory puzzles, and courtroom-style logic battles. Each of the six characters’ stories is interwoven with themes of trauma, identity, and memory, explored through dreamlike environments that reflect their inner states.
The visual style also aims to enhance its surreal atmosphere, with environments tailored to the psychological and emotional landscapes of its characters. Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo will further support multiple languages at launch, including English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Further details are expected to be revealed in the lead-up to its release later this year.
