In an announcement made during the INDIE Live Expo showcase, publisher Alliance Arts and developer WHO YOU have announced that their upcoming title, Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis, will launch on PC via Steam on 20 October 2025.
Described as a psychological rhythm adventure, the game follows Qtie, a protagonist grappling with social withdrawal and an increasing reliance on parasocial relationships. Players will accompany Qtie as she navigates a surreal, rhythm-based narrative driven by denpa music and a potentially imaginary long-distance relationship with a figure named Yunyun. The game promises a branching narrative experience with multiple outcomes, ranging from romantic fulfilment to darker conclusions involving online chaos and existential consequences.
Gameplay is set to involve rhythm-based mechanics where players tap buttons in time with music to express Qtie’s devotion publicly, type messages to grow her social media following, and confront online detractors. The game features over 30 tracks, including several performed by well-known denpa artist KOTOKO, such as “sakuranbokissu~bakuhatsudamo~n~”, “Nee,…shiyou yo!”, “Mighty Heart ~Aru Hi no Kenka, Itsumo no Koigokoro~” and more.
