System Era Softworks, in partnership with Devolver Digital, has announced Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions, a new standalone title set within the Astroneer universe. The game was officially revealed during the latest Nintendo Switch 2 showcase and is scheduled for release in 2026.
Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions will take players on a multiplayer journey across the stars, combining cooperative gameplay with large-scale objectives spanning multiple star systems. Players will embark from the ESS Starseeker, a persistent and evolving space station that serves as a central hub for planning expeditions, upgrading gear, and socialising with fellow explorers.
The game introduces a new set of advanced tools that players can use to face a range of challenges, including alien creatures, hazardous flora, and other spaceborne dangers. While the experience prioritises freedom and cooperation, a deeper narrative is promised for those inclined to seek it out.
Despite the announcement of this new title, fans of the original Astroneer can expect continued support for the existing game, with System Era Softworks confirming that it will remain active and receive further updates alongside its new companion title.
