During the most recent Nintendo Direct broadcast, it was announced that Enter the Gungeon 2 is currently in development. The sequel to the popular bullet hell dungeon crawler Enter the Gungeon is being developed by Dodge Roll and will once again be published by Devolver Digital.
Revealed by Dodge Roll’s Dave Crooks, Enter the Gungeon 2 introduces a 3D art style while retaining the gameplay mechanics that defined its predecessor. Players will once again battle through procedurally-generated environments, encountering a mix of returning and new enemies. The game will offer a broader selection of weapons and expand on its item mechanics, blending active and passive items, blessings, and curses.
The new game also promises a more dynamic combat experience. Enemies, previously confined to a 2D space, will now interact with the environment in new ways—being knocked around, launched into the air, or sent plummeting into pits. Players can also expect an evolving roster of characters, with both returning Gungeoneers and new additions, as they rescue stranded allies and uncover the deeper secrets of the Gungeon.
Enter the Gungeon 2 is planned for release on PC and the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
