HIDIVE has confirmed that it will stream the upcoming anime series Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World! as an exclusive simulcast this spring. The reverse isekai romantic comedy, adapted from the manga by Nakanosora, is set to premiere on 6 April 2025 as part of the streaming platform’s Spring 2025 line-up.
Set after a traditional fantasy adventure has already concluded, Yandere Dark Elf follows Hinata, a former hero who has returned to Earth after defeating the Demon Lord in another world. Any hope of a quiet life is quickly upended when Mariabelle, a powerful and devoted dark elf from his adventuring party, also makes the leap between worlds – determined to win his heart and eliminate the competition.
Nakanosora’s original manga began serialization in Web Comic Gamma Plus in September 2021 and currently spans four volumes. An English-language edition is available via Seven Seas Entertainment.
Yandere Dark Elf is being produced by Elias, with direction from Toshikatsu Tokoro and series composition by Yuki Takabayashi. The Japanese voice cast includes Minami Takahashi as Mariabelle, Rie Kawamura as Hinata Sunohara, Kyoka Maruyama as Sakura Mochida, Ayumi Mano as Mei, and Hinako Takahashi as Cecile — with no word on whether an English dub is in the works.
John Ledford, President of HIDIVE, highlighted the series’ genre appeal and unique premise:
We’re excited to add Yandere Dark Elf to HIDIVE’s slate of exclusive simulcasts streaming this spring. Yandere Dark Elf brings the fantasy world to Earth in a unique isekai series that offers all the laughs and love of a rom-com. Fans of isekai—both new and old—will not want to miss it.
