Delivering new content to cover the coming months, Square Enix has rolled out Patch 7.2 for Final Fantasy XIV Online, titled Seekers of Eternity, introducing new narrative content, gameplay activities, and battle challenges for players to explore. The update continues the journey of the Warrior of Light and adds multiple features, including a new dungeon, a fresh raid tier, and high-difficulty encounters.
Patch 7.2’s launch sees the introduction of The Underkeep dungeon and The Arcadion: Cruiserweight Tier raid, with the Savage difficulty version of the raid scheduled to unlock on 1 April 2025. Additionally, players can now challenge Suzaku in Hells’ Kier (Unreal)—a revamped trial from the Stormblood era set at level 100 – as part of the latest Unreal difficulty content. A new trial, Recollection, is also now available in both Normal and Extreme modes.
Other features of Patch 7.2 include updates to the PvP system with the beginning of Series 8, the return of Frontline (Secure) with adjustments, new role actions for large-scale PvP modes, and action tweaks across various classes. Duty Support has been expanded to include The Sunken Temple of Qarn, and a new Cornservant sidequest has been added to the game’s quest offerings.
With Square Enix not putting all their eggs in the one basket, Patch 7.21 is scheduled for release on 22 April 2025 and will introduce Cosmic Exploration, a new collaborative mode designed for crafters and gatherers akin to those of past expansions. In this activity, players from the same World will work together to explore uncharted stars, alongside the latest Tool Enhancement Quests that aim to develop advanced Cosmic Tools. Sadly, there is no confirmed interstellar housing district alongside this.
Further content is planned for Patch 7.25, due to launch on 27 May 2025. This patch will debut The Occult Crescent, a new field operations area set within the dangerous waters of Shades’ Triangle. Players will team up with a legendary explorer and their crew to uncover the isle’s hidden truths. Those who brave the terrain will have the opportunity to enter the Forked Tower, a 48-player dungeon housing powerful enemies.
