MACROSS -Shooting Insight- Now Available Digitally, Physical Release to Follow

MACROSS -Shooting Insight, the latest video game adaptation of the iconic MACROSS anime franchise, is now available digitally in North America and Europe on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. This marks the first time a MACROSS game has received an official console release in the West.

Alongside the digital launch, physical editions of MACROSS -Shooting Insight- for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4 are planned for release later in 2025. However, physical PS4 versions will only be available in Europe. Standard physical editions of the game will be available through multiple retailers in both regions, while two special editions will be exclusively sold via Red Art Games’ online store and Video Games Plus. Further details on the release date of the Collector’s Edition will be announced at a later stage. European physical editions can be pre-ordered via Red Art Games’ online store, while North American physical copies can be pre-ordered from Video Games Plus.

Developed by Kaminari Games (Raiden V: Director’s Cut), MACROSS -Shooting Insight- is a Multi-Dimensional Shooting Game that blends multiple gameplay styles. The game follows a galaxy-threatening anomaly that forces pilots and songstresses from different MACROSS dimensions to join forces in a battle against chaos. Featuring an original story, it brings together characters from five MACROSS titles – MACROSS Plus, MACROSS Zero, MACROSS 7, MACROSS Frontier, and MACROSS Delta. Players will engage in stages that transition between horizontally scrolling shooting, vertically scrolling shooting, and 360-degree scrolling gameplay.

The Western release of MACROSS -Shooting Insight- includes the latest update on disc, offering several gameplay improvements:

  • Difficulty Adjustments: Increased HP recovery speed through auto-recovery settings.
  • Continues System: Players can now restart from the same stage after a Game Over, even if they return to the menu.
  • Music Enhancements: Adjustments to the duration of Diva songs and transitions between background music.
  • Quality-of-Life Improvements: Game controls are now accessible at any time through the pause menu.
