Like quite a few in-development games nowadays, the upcoming life simulation game Inzoi has an active Discord community where fans can interact with the development team, along with reading very regular updates. One of the main sources of information is the ‘Kjuns Concerns’ section, where director Hyungjun Kim provides sneak peeks at the game and asks future players for suggestions on what they would like to see, feedback, concerns etc.
In their most recent installment, titled ‘Making a wishlist, checking it twice’, Kjun shared updates on how prior feedback has been incorporated into the game. If you are after a list of brand new confirmed features for the game, keep scrolling down:
- Facial Capture to Create a Face Template: After seeing our live Facial Capture and our AI-assisted 3D Printer, we noticed many of you naturally wanting to apply these concepts to automatically creating faces for your Zois. It’s a great idea that could certainly simplify your Create-a-Zoi experience. While we’re still in our early stages of development, we are indeed working on a feature that is slightly different but is inspired by how we iterate custom assets on Build Mode.
- Interactions with Animals: A popular request was being able to adopt the animals in the city as pets. As someone who loves animals (the cats in inZOI were inspired by the strays I meet during my afternoon walks), I’m happy to let you know that pet-related features are in the plans. You can expect these features to arrive after our Early Access launch.
- Limited Floors in Build Mode: One feature I took great pride in was being able to build houses with unlimited floors (as many as your PC would allow). However, after careful consideration of issues that arise from extremely tall buildings, we have sadly decided to set a maximum cap of 30 floors. We hope you can understand our decision and still continue to enjoy building within this limit
- Tutorial for New Players: While experienced life sim players will likely adapt quickly, we found that inZOI’s many features could be overwhelming to new players of the genre. To help with that, we’re working on a friendly, comprehensive tutorial to make sure everyone can get started smoothly.
- Gas Station: Though this wasn’t the most upvoted item, it’s something that piqued my interest, especially since we already have dedicated locations for it. While we’re on the fence about whether cars would actually put in gas at the gas station (I’m aware that’s its main purpose), we can definitely place small convenience stores and bathrooms you can use while you (pretend to) wait for your car to fill up (Interesting fact, Korean gas stations do not have convenience stores in gas stations like in some western countries!).
- Fighting – Some of you pointed out that our current slapping mechanism doesn’t tell the full story in expressing ‘fights’ in inZOI. To address this, we added new motions and a system that determines the winner of a fight based on specific stats each Zoi has. We believe this can add more depth in creating interesting stories in inZOI.
From Gas Stations to a 30 floor limit (I’d imagine the usefulness of this would depend on system specs), pets to and facial capturing – some interesting features are set to be incorporated into the game at or post-Early Access launch.
On that note, a little more than two months remain until Inzoi enters early-access on 28 March 2025 for PC. While it is hard not to have trust issues given last year’s very last minute cancellation of Life by You, especially following the release of the Zoi Creator demo last year, it is hard not to feel a little bit pumped for a new life simulation game with promise entering the market.
