Indie game developer Bit66 has announced the release of a demo for their upcoming cosy simulation game, Book Bound. The game invites players to take on the role of a bookstore owner, with gameplay centered around customising and managing their own bookshop.
The pixel-art style simulation offers a range of features, including a flexible decoration system that allows players to design their store according to their personal style. Players can also interact with customers, maintain the shop’s tidiness, and unlock new book genres as they progress.
The demo includes a sampling of most of the games features, offering a preview of activities such as decorating and running the bookshop, helping customers find titles, and advancing genre progression by selling books. However, the demo comes with a few limitations: saving progress is not supported, and only the Romance and Fantasy genres are available, with others (such as Sci-Fi, Non-Fiction, and Thriller) locked.
The full version of Book Bound is planned for release on Steam in 2025. In the meantime, players can explore the demo by visiting the game’s Steam page.
