Belgian developer Funtomata has announced that Asfalia: Fear, a new 2D point-and-click adventure game, will launch on 14 January 2025. Available on Steam for PC and Mac, the game will be priced at $7.99, with regional pricing applicable, in addition to a launch week discount of 20% offered. Players can also bundle Asfalia: Fear with its predecessor, Asfalia: Anger, to save an additional 15%.
In Asfalia: Fear, players follow Charlie, a child navigating a whimsical storybook world where emotions take on physical forms. Charlie must solve puzzles, find their missing puppies, and overcome challenges posed by a growing shadow in the world of Asfalia. Accompanied by their fiery companion Lily, players will engage with quirky characters, uncover hidden objects, and complete minigames that enhance the adventure. Collectible stickers and lighthearted gameplay elements are designed to appeal to children and families.
The hand-drawn art style of Asfalia: Fear is influenced by classic storybook aesthetics, aiming to offer a world reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. The game aims to provide an accessible and heartfelt experience for a broad audience, balancing emotional storytelling with playful mechanics.
