In anticipation of the release of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film later this month, SEGA has announced themed updates for some of their mobile games in the franchise. Fans of Sonic Dream Team, Sonic Dash, and Sonic Forces can look forward to exciting new content celebrating the iconic franchise.
Here’s what’s in store:
Sonic Forces (Update Now Available)
This update introduces the Metro-city Zone, a new location with three fresh tracks for players to master. Movie Shadow, Movie Sonic, and other characters will appear in special Sonic Movie Mobile events.
Sonic Dream Team (Update Available 18 December)
Playable Shadow and New Challenges: Take control of Shadow in Tails’ Challenges, where players can tackle special levels, earn rewards, and unlock Shadow for use in Adventure mode. Shadow’s unique abilities, Chaos Control and Chaos Shift, allow players to manipulate time, freezing enemies and the environment to achieve their goals.
New Powers: Unlock additional powers, including Quick Grind, Perfect Jump, Chain Attack, and Perfect Boost, for all characters. Shadow-exclusive abilities such as Double Chaos Shift and Extended Chaos Control are also available.
New Music and Statues: Expand your in-game collection with six Shadow-themed statues and new music tracks added to Tails’ Challenges.
Reworked Tutorial: A revamped tutorial level offers an improved onboarding experience for new players.
Sonic Dash (Update Available 20 December)
Players can collect cards to unlock Movie Shadow and Movie Sonic while also earning extra rewards through daily collectibles. Fans of Sonic Dash+ on Apple Arcade can expect additional Shadow-themed updates in January 2025.
