Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has released Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, the first large-scale, live-service multiplayer game in the relatively long-running series of Sword Art Online video game adaptations. The game is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Set in the virtual world of Alfheim Online, Fractured Daydream follows Kirito and his friends as they navigate the chaos caused by a malfunction in the new Galaxia system, which has merged various worlds and timelines. Players will need to form alliances and face new threats to survive this unfamiliar territory.
The game features an original story with popular characters like Kirito, Asuna, and Leafa, and offers both single-player and online multiplayer modes. In the offline mode, players can experience the story by battling enemies and working to fix the timeline disrupted by Galaxia. In the online mode, up to 20 players can team up for Co-Op Quests, Boss Raids, and Free Roam exploration. Co-Op Quests involve completing missions followed by a boss fight, while Boss Raids require teamwork and strategy to defeat powerful enemies. Free Roam allows players to explore the world and interact with other players.
Cross-platform play is supported in Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, ensuring interoperability between all platforms and uniting all players.
