With a presence at this morning’s Nintendo Direct livestreamed event, Square Enix were in attendance with news on two new projects in the works, revolving around their Dragon Quest franchise which are in active development by the development team at ARTDINK. This includes confirmation that Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, a remake of the third Dragon Quest game is planned for release on 14 November 2024. Additionally, it was announced that a similar project is in the work for Dragon Quest I & II, henceforth known as Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake.

DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake
The Legacy Begins. DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake is a stunning reimagining of the beloved masterpiece and narrative beginning to The Erdrick Trilogy. Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC starting 14 November 2024.
DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake
DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake will continue the classic RPG trilogy’s narrative, offering players two adventures to undertake in DRAGON QUEST I and DRAGON QUEST II. Planned for release in 2025, with consoles to be confirmed. Very possibly – the same as the above.
