For many Australians, over the last couple of years we have had the opportunity to enjoy SIX the Musical, a creative take and retelling of the six wives of Henry VIII, with their individual stories told through the form of an afterlife pop concert, where they seek to convince the audience (and themselves) who should be the leading lady of their group based on who suffered most at the hand of their former husband. While the 2022-2023 tour concluded earlier this year, those who missed out need to worry, with confirmation today that an encore season will be touring the East Coast of Australia starting in the latter-half of 2024 into 2025.
Being brought to Australia again by Louise Withers, Michael Coppel and Linda Bewick, the tour will commence at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre in August 2024, followed by a stint at Sydney’s Theatre Royal in October 2024. The tour is then (at least as of writing and pending extensions) set to conclude at the QPAC Playhouse in Brisbane for the 2025 summer school holidays in January 2025. Those interested in nabbing tickets are encouraged to put their names down on the official website on the official Six the Musical Australia Website. SIX tells the extraordinary story of the six wives of King Henry VIll who step out of the shadow of their infamous husband and reclaim their own narratives. Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, this modern pop-inspired musical brings these historical figures to life, portraying them as fierce and influential pop stars in their own right. Audiences are taken on a journey through the lives of Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr, each telling their own story and reclaiming their own narrative.

Set Design is by Emma Bailey, Costume Design is by Gabriella Slade, Lighting Design is by Tim Deiling and Sound Design is by Paul Gatehouse.
