Bandai Namco Entertainment has finalized the initial roster for their next flagship fighting game, TEKKEN 8 with the introduction of Reina, the last character to be announced for the game’s launch. Known as the Purple Lightning, Reina is characterized by her lightning-fast moves, designed to overwhelm opponents in the iconic fighting game series.
Adding intrigue to the game, Reina’s background is shrouded in mystery. The only known detail about her is her status as a student at the Mishima Polytechnical School. However, she seems to have a specific interest in Jin Kazama, particularly in fighting him.
TEKKEN 8 will feature a diverse launch roster of 32 characters, including the central figures Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima, around whose story the game primarily revolves. Alongside these key characters, the game welcomes back fan-favorites such as Paul Phoenix and Yoshimitsu, as well as returning characters like Jun Kazama and Raven. The roster is further enriched by three new characters who have been revealed to fans in recent months: Azucena, Victor Chevalier, and Reina. For returning characters, all character models in TEKKEN 8 have been completely remade from scratch, leveraging the capabilities of the latest generation of hardware.
Set to launch on January 26, 2024, TEKKEN 8 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is designed to maximize the potential of the current generation of consoles, offering a visually stunning experience. The developers seek to deliver a game that emphasizes aggressiveness and spectacular battle action.
