During their traditional Anime Expo industry panel, anime streaming platform HIDIVE made many major announcements. Among the highlights of the panel, hosted by Star Butler and Jacki Jing, were the unveiling of new acquisitions and the introduction of English DUBCAST editions. Moreover, the panel culminated with the U.S. subtitled premiere of Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero, a comedy-fantasy series by Kadokawa, which is set to begin streaming exclusively on HIDIVE from July 3rd.
One of the notable acquisitions disclosed by HIDIVE was a last minute confirmation that they will be streaming The Dreaming Boy is a Realist, the new romantic comedy from Pony Canyon. The series, based on the popular light novel series penned by Okemaru and illustrated by Saba Mizore, is set to premiere exclusively on HIDIVE on 3 July 2023. The series is directed by Kazuomi Koga, with Michiko Yokote as the writer, and is a collaboration production between Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ.
Furthermore, HIDIVE announced the acquisition of three returning shows. Among these is the second season of OSHI NO KO, following its successful first season debut during last season. In addition, HIDIVE confirmed that the spy thriller Spy Classroom and the romantic comedy The Dangers in My Heart will be returning for their second seasons. Both series will be exclusively available on HIDIVE as part of this year’s summer and winter simulcast seasons respectively.
In the domain of English dubbed content, HIDIVE revealed three DUBCASTs set to release later in the year. “The Dangers in My Heart” Season 1 and “KAIJI: Ultimate Survivor” Third Arc are slated for release this summer. “The Eminence in Shadow” 2nd Season will be released in the fall. The already announced second season of The Eminence in Shadow will be the first HIDIVE simulcast series to be available in both sub and dub formats simultaneously with the TV broadcast in Japan. This particular series is scheduled for premiere in October during the Fall Simulcast Season.
HIDIVE also showcased an exclusive clip from the English dub of “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!. This clip is part of Sentai’s upcoming Blu-Ray home video complete collection, which is set for release on July 25th. The collection is currently available for pre-order.
