Even though Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses was due to be the fifth and final downloadable character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, post-launch support for the game has been extended into 2020/2021 with the planned release of five additional playable fighters as part of the second season of paid characters. While we have known that a character from the Switch-exclusive IP ARMS would be featuring as the sixth DLC character, Nintendo today took the opportunity to confirm that this character will be Min Min.
Due for release on 30 June, purchasing this pack will unlock immediate access to Min Min, the Spring Stadium stage to battle on, and 18 music tracks from ARMS. The main quirk of Min Min’s fighting style is her extendable ARMs – the Ramram, the Megawatt and her laser-firing Dragon ARM – which can be controlled individually and used to access a diverse range of tools. Min Min’s accompanying stage, Spring Stadium, features a variety of interactive elements ARMS players will instantly recognize, including the ability to damage opponents when making contact with them after using a jumping platform. Foes will also bounce off the striking ceiling arches when they’re launched. The adorable ARMS drones will also make an appearance to deliver items that aid in battle, but make sure to approach them with caution when freeing boxes to claim their rewards!
Min Min can be purchased in two different ways via the Nintendo eShop. The first is as a standalone ‘Challenger Pack 6’ purchase available for $7.80 AUD / $10.20 NZD. If you are willing to take the chance and know you want to fight with this and four other (currently unknown) characters going forward, you can grab the ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2″ for $39.00 AUD or $51.00 NZD.
