Like many other performing arts companies around the world, Queensland Theatre has been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While their production of Triple X has not been able to go ahead, and their upcoming productions of Othello and FIFTY! have already been postponed; the company have decided on how they will be engaging with the local theatre community and their loyal patrons during this period. It may be only behind a computer monitor, but get ready for some quality time with QT!
On Tuesday 21 April 2020, the first-ever Queensland Theatre Play Club will be held via a Zoom Webinar. Commencing at 8.00pm, this will take the form of a live play reading of Van Badham’s romantic comedy The Bull, the Moon and the Coronet of Stars. Queensland Theatre regulars including Bryan Probets, Elise Greig and (Artistic Director) Lee Lewis will be on-stream, reading through the script.
The capacity for each of the upcoming free streams will be strictly limited. Therefore, if this is something of interest to you, booking via the official Queensland Theatre website is essential. While the full line-up of Play Club streams has yet to be announced, keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks!
