An English release of the yuri adventure visual novel Black Lily’s Tale is now available on Steam, arriving alongside a 50 percent off sale for a limited time. The project was originally conceptualized and illustrated by artist Fukahire, with development by the team at 1000-REKA.
First released in Japan almost two years ago, Black Lily’s Tale is presented as a fully voiced, free-choice adventure gane. Beyond traditional visual novel structures, progression can branch by entering key words and making player-driven choices.
Black Lily’s Tale introduces several systems uncommon in standard adventure games. Interruption Choices can be triggered at any moment during conversations, allowing players to open alternate paths and even type in new key words to generate options. A Memorize system helps track and review discovered terms, and an Assistive Setting lets players choose their preferred difficulty. Casual mode provides hints and automatically logs words into Memorize, while Pro mode removes hints for a greater challenge.
Set in Sapporo, the story follows third-year student Hana Sasamori in a world changed by the CLII virus, contained eighteen years prior. As graduation approaches, Hana relives the same day repeatedly while grappling with her feelings for Itsuki, the person who once helped her. The narrative frames themes of love, malediction, persistence, and sorrow between two people trying to find each other.
Black Lily’s Tale is available now on PC via Steam.
