To mark the first anniversary of its Japanese release under the title Utakata no Uchronia, Aksys Games has announced that the visual novel’s English localisation will be titled Illusion of Itehari. The game is scheduled for release in North America and Europe in Fall 2025 for the Nintendo Switch (or Spring 2025 for us in the Southern Hemisphere). Pre-orders for Illusion of Itehari are now open, including an exclusive edition available only through the Aksys Online Store. This version will include the game’s original soundtrack on CD.
Set in the floating city of Itehari, a seemingly idyllic utopia suspended in the sky, the story follows Hinagiku, a noblewoman from a prestigious family. Despite the prosperity of her surroundings, Hinagiku dreams of a life beyond the boundaries of her enclosed world. Upon turning 18, she encounters a mysterious man named Yashiro who suffers from amnesia. Their meeting triggers a series of events that lead Hinagiku to uncover long-buried secrets about Itehari and its hidden truths, ultimately challenging the illusion of the perfect society she has always known.
Illusion of Itehari is the debut title from LicoBiTs, a collaborative label launched by Broccoli and TIS Creation to develop games for a female audience. The project brings together a team of experienced creators and artists working to deliver a distinctive otome game experience.
