While MangaGamer have previously offered the eight original chapters of 07th Expansion’s sound novel series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Aka. Higurashi When They Cry), they are currently in the process of revisiting each chapter individually to offer a new “Hou” version of them. Only available as individual chapters, these re-releases come with a number of features including new character portraits, re-translated text and original music.

To date, MangaGamer have republished the first three chapters. Bringing their work on the “Question Arcs” to an end, the publisher has confirmed that Higurashi When They Cry Hou – Ch 4 Himatsubushi will be available for purchase from October 7th 2016 via their online store and the Steam digital distribution platform. You can place your pre-order via the official MangaGamer website HERE. Haven’t been following the arcs episode-by-episode and now want to dive into it? You can also purchase a Question Arcs bundle HERE.

While Himatsubushi had the least number of episodes dedicated to it in the original TV anime season, it receives its own chapter in the sound novel. These will lead into the “Answer Arcs”, heading our way in the near future. The final questions and suspicions will be raised in this chapter, as the story begins to shift from posing questions to providing answers.

In this chapter, readers are taken back to many years before the events of other chapters – back to the time of the Hinamizawa Dam protests. This time, a boy is kidnapped – the son of one the dam leaders. A young detective visits Hinamizawa to track down the kidnapped child, but why do things seem off? What could Rika possibly want from this man in the distant past?
