With E3 2016 currently underway in Los Angeles, it is quite fitting for visual novel/indie publisher Sekai Project to make an announcement about expanding their reach to consoles.
All-ages visual novels being available on consoles is not too uncommon in Japan, but is a lot less frequent in western markets. Potentially making new steps to change this, Sekai Project have today announced they are officially teaming up with the North Carolina based Mighty Rabbit Studios and their Limited Run Games subsidiary. This partnership will see the companies porting over titles from Sekai Project’s (rather sizable) library over to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Games published for consoles will not only be available through digital channels (PlayStation Store), but also through physical distribution. While digital copies of these games will likely be more plentiful, physical copies available through Limited Run Games will be sold online and available in limited runs.
No games have yet been confirmed for availability on consoles just yet, but watch this space.
