Providing new depth to the characters in CLANNAD, Sekai Project have finally released CLANNAD Side Stories on the PC through Steam. This was a $320,000 stretch goal for the CLANNAD crowdfunding campaign, and is now available as either a pledged item or for standalone purchase right now.

Known as CLANNAD Hikari Mimamoru Sakamichi de in Japan, this visual novel adventure is a collection of linear side stories which gives fans an opportunity to explore and experience new stories surrounding the residents of Hikarizaka. These are separate stories from the visual novel and anime adaptations, meaning you are likely to learn a lot about the characters they focus on.

This title was first released on the PlayStation Portable in 2010, and utilises text of the respective novel published in 2005 and audio from the drama CD’s published in 2007. Each of the sixteen chapters on offer focuses on a different character. These range from main characters like Nagisa and Yoshino, to minor characters like Kyou’s pet, Botan.

This is the very first time that CLANNAD Side Stories has been made available in English, and does receive a HD upgrade (1280 x 960) from its PlayStation Portable counterpart.
