Having managed to raise $475,255 through their recent Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to localize and publisher Front Wing’s visual novel The Grisaia Trilogy, Sekai Project are making good of the $240,000 stretch goal and are looking into localizing/distributing the PlayStation Vita port of the title.
Although they are still far away from announcing this for certain and acknowledge there is still a “substantial application process” which they need to go through still, Sekai Project have confirmed that they are now a PSN Publisher. A good first sign, especially considering this would be one of the few Japanese visual novels that ever get localized and released on the PlayStation Vita internationally.
If a PlayStation Vita port eventually amounts into something, those who pledged at least $1 during the Kickstarter campaign for The Grisaia Trilogy will be able to update their pledge for a Vita copy through Backerkit. You can check out the visual novel’s now finished crowdfunding page HERE.
Yay now we just gotta keep fingers crossed for a limited edition retail copy 🙂
Whatever became of those naughty body pillows…
My understanding is that one of the higher ups on Kickstarter didn’t like the adult based products and had the company send Sekai Project a cease and decease order. Sekai tried to appeal it, but after 48 hours all of the backers with the pillow tier were removed. There was an article about it on Cliquist, if I can find it, I’ll add it
They were taken down by Kickstarter staff, apparently somebody was offended that adult content was available on a kickstarter campaign. So yeah it set back Sekai Project, needless to state they lost some money over it, but they still came out on top in the end.
