Queen’s Domain, a retro-fantasy action RPG from Freshly Baked Games LLC, inspired by FromSoftware’s games, has launched on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
The game opens with the player washed up on the shores of the Isle of Neasied, searching for their father, who disappeared on the island. Sinister forces are gathering there, secrets are hidden everywhere, and a sleeping Queen has started to stir.
Exploration plays a big part. The island is an interconnected, maze-like world with secrets and dangers around every corner, and the main tool for getting around it is the legendary Holy Sword Endu, which lets the player fly from platform to platform. Upgrades allow it to carry them further across gaps.
Combat is action-focused and built around a classic stamina meter, with charged attacks, weapon-specific special attacks and secondary throwing weapons. There are more than 50 melee weapons to find, equip and upgrade, along with over 20 types of throwing weapons that allow for different approaches in combat. Players earn XP to level up, can eat food to boost their stats further and equip accessories as they make their way through more than 100 enemies, mini bosses and bosses in the depths of the isle.
