Foraging adventure Gendo the Gatherer now has a release date. UnintentionalLogic has confirmed the cosy, Edo period-inspired pixel art game will launch on Steam on 12 November, with a new release date trailer marking the announcement.
Ahead of launch, an updated demo is available now for Steam Next Fest, which runs from 19 to 26 October. Returning players will find a larger forest to explore, with a new map that gives Gendo more ground to cover and more ingredients to collect.
The demo also previews several features from the full game. Gendo can now upgrade both his home and his teahouse, a new trader has opened for business, and a mining minigame has been added for digging up resources.
Gendo the Gatherer is a life sim built around a routine of foraging, cooking and serving. Days are spent exploring a countryside landscape that changes with every visit, gathering ingredients before heading home to turn them into meals. Cooking involves chopping and steaming the day’s harvest, and the finished dishes are served to townsfolk who place orders at Gendo’s teahouse.
Outside the kitchen, players can unlock new houses and furniture to decorate Gendo’s home, and take on quests to help the locals and earn a place in the community. There is also a raccoon, and it can be petted.
The updated demo can be played now on its Steam page.
