Spike Chunsoft has locked in a release date for Danganronpa 2×2, with the deductive action game scheduled to arrive in North America and Europe on 14 January 2027. It will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Alongside the date, the company has put out a new introduction trailer that showcases the game’s Slayhem Mode.
Danganronpa 2×2 offers two ways to experience Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The first is “Original” mode, a revamped version of the scenario that retells the 2012 release’s story with enhanced visuals and updated presentation suited to modern systems. The second is “Slayhem” mode, which presents a new scenario based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair but with a completely different storyline. Players are not required to finish one before starting the other, as both modes are unlocked from the beginning. Tentatively however, those who haven’t played the original will likely want to complete the original mode first.

Pre-orders are now open for both the standard edition and a limited edition known as the Danganronpa 2×2 Psycho Tropical Vacation Package. The limited edition contains a copy of the game, with customers able to choose between a physical edition for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 5, or a printed card with a Steam key. The Steam version of the package is sold exclusively through the Spike Chunsoft Official Store. The rest of the package is made up of an RSVLTS Reversible Psycho Tropical Hat, Kidrobot 3″ Psycho Tropical Monokuma and Monomi figures, the Danganronpa 2×2 original soundtrack, and a clamshell-style outer box.
