Frontier Developments will expand Planet Coaster 2 with a cinema-themed collection of rides and scenery when the Silver Screen Pack launches for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S next week, on 19 August 2026. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of film and art deco design, the pack gives players new tools for creating movie sets, studio backlots, cinematic backdrops and metropolitan environments. Its scenery selection features gold detailing, marble finishes and a range of vehicles, with more than 650 new and enhanced scenery pieces included alongside over 100 animatronics.
Seven new rides will also join the game. Among them is the Vector New Gen Flying Coaster, while Movement Construction Slot Car introduces family-oriented racing. Fourth Wall places guests on a 360 degree tilting stage, and Ground Control offers a gentler soaring attraction aimed at smaller guests. The Big Screen Tour provides a traditional studio backlot tour experience, while Re-Motion is a customisable simulator-style tracked ride featuring an adjustable robotic arm that can move its seats in multiple directions. The pack will also introduce a Cinema, allowing park guests to visit the movies.
Additional customisation options include 30 ambient movie-themed sounds and more than 80 sound effects. New entertainer Cornell Butterworth will also make his debut as part of the pack. Some scenery and animatronic content has been enhanced and brought forward from the original Planet Coaster‘s Studios Pack, with the new collection designed to support both dedicated film studio areas and broader city-themed builds.
The paid expansion will arrive alongside Free Update 11 for Planet Coaster 2. The update adds queue wait signs, five concession counters and on-ride photography for flumes and tracked rides, as well as a selection of bug fixes and other improvements.
Planet Coaster 2: Silver Screen Pack will launch on 19 August 2026 with a suggested retail price of £11.99, US$14.99 or €14.99. The base game is required to play.
