The Pokémon Company International has revealed Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration, a commemorative expansion marking 30 years of Pokémon. Hopefully with more protections around the recent inflated prices of cards and a booming “scalper” market, the new expansion is scheduled to arrive at participating retailers around the world from 16 September 2026. The 30th Celebration set will be the first Pokémon TCG expansion to debut through a simultaneously coordinated global launch in participating markets
The set will feature all foil cards, alongside the return of classic cards from across the game’s history. Among its new additions is Futuristic rare, a new card rarity illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. These cards will present Pokémon through vibrant artwork designed to evoke a sense of hope toward an unknown future.
Each 30th Celebration booster pack will also include one of 30 unique foil Pikachu cards, with each one illustrated by a different artist. Other new cards in the expansion will depict various Pokémon during different moments across daytime and nighttime. The expansion will also bring back 30 classic Pokémon cards from the TCG’s decades long history, each featuring a new foil treatment.
