PQube and Dragonis Games have confirmed that their Lovecraftian first-person horror title, Necrophosis: Full Consciousness, is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 28 May 2026. The game seeks to draw heavy visual inspiration from the surrealist aesthetics of artist Zdzisław Beksiński.
The experience places players in the role of a being known as Consciousness, who inhabits a decaying vessel within a world defined by rot and grotesque landscapes. Gameplay focuses on navigating these environments and solving increasingly unsettling puzzles to uncover the lore of the setting through fragments of narrative poetry.
The Full Consciousness edition includes the base game alongside the Subconsciousness DLC. This additional content introduces new surreal locations and forgotten spaces where players must navigate puzzles that incorporate poetic narration. The DLC is designed to explore truths that the primary Consciousness character is unable to reach.
For those interested in physical media, a retail version will be made available for the PlayStation 5. This edition includes a bonus copy of the studio’s debut title, The Shore. That game serves as a predecessor in theme, following a father’s search for his daughter on a forbidden island filled with atmospheric exploration and nightmarish entities.
Dragonis Games founder Ares Dragonis recently shared insights into the creative direction of the project:
Most horror games give you a weapon, a gun, an axe, something to fight back with. Necrophosis doesn’t. That’s intentional. This isn’t about killing or surviving. It’s about facing entities you cannot fully understand, exploring worlds your mind could never imagine.
