Com2uS has launched a major celebration for the 12th anniversary of its flagship mobile title, Summoners War: Sky Arena – which is not a small feat by any means in the live service market. The festivities include a series of significant in-game mechanical updates alongside a unique commercial campaign designed to address common industry marketing trends.
The promotional campaign consists of seven short-form commercials that parody prevalent mobile game advertising tropes. Each video begins by mimicking familiar scenarios, such as dramatic fantasy raids, complex puzzle layouts, or incompetent gameplay demonstrations. These scenes eventually break down as characters stop to question the logic of the situation or walk off the set, revealing the production crew behind the scenes. Definitely a humourous watch, even if you are not invested in the game itself. You can view all of these at the bottom of this article.
Inside Summoners War: Sky Arena, Sky Island has been transformed into a festival-themed hub featuring large-scale displays, fireworks, and laser effects. A central stage hosts performances from fan-favourite Monsters, including Valkyrja, Hell Lady, and Chakram Dancer, who appear in their Idol Star Transmogrifications. Players are also given the tools to customise their own festival spaces on the island by placing specific Monsters and decorative items to create unique scenes.
The anniversary update introduces several new systems intended to streamline player progression. A new Summon Mileage system has been added, which awards points for using scrolls and eventually guarantees a default 5-star Monster. Additionally, players can now use Relics, a new equipment type that allows shared effects to be applied across multiple Monsters simultaneously.
The Summoner’s Way feature has also seen a permanent expansion. It now includes Special missions that offer increased rewards and opportunities for selective summons of natural 4-star and 5-star Monsters. Later in April 2026, the developer plans to release an update to the Deck Preset system, allowing users to save specific team compositions alongside their equipment configurations.
A visual overhaul has been applied to several Monsters as part of this milestone, including the 5-star Phoenix and Polar Queen, as well as several lower-tier units. Players participating in the anniversary events can also earn various rewards, such as the Lunar Star Mermaid Transmogrification and over 200 Special Scrolls.
