Alawar has confirmed that their upcoming cozy management simulation, The Last Gas Station, is scheduled to launch on Steam on 28 April 2026. This comes following gamers getting their first sneak peek at the game during February’s Steam Next Fest.
The Last Gas Station is set in a future where electric vehicles have become the standard, leaving the player to manage one of the few remaining facilities catering to gasoline-powered cars. The protagonist takes over the business after the previous manager vanished under unexplained circumstances. While the primary goal involves maintaining the station, players are warned to remain indoors once the sun sets.
Management mechanics require players to modernize the property by replacing old pumps and offering maintenance services such as oil changes and tire inflation. Beyond the garage, the gameplay includes stocking a retail shop with snacks and automotive supplies, managing price points, and designing the store layout to maximize profit. Players can also customize the aesthetic of their business with neon signs and various decorations.
The developers have shared that they have implemented several updates based on player feedback on the Steam Next Fest demo version – including the ability to restore other nearby storefronts, the introduction of new minigames, and expanded areas for exploration.
