Idea Factory International has confirmed the official release of Ariana and the Elder Codex across North America, Europe and other regions. The action platformer is now available in both physical and digital formats for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
While the console versions are available as of today, a PC release via Steam is scheduled to follow on 29 April 2026. The upcoming Steam version will provide players with English and Japanese voiceover options, alongside subtitle support for English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Those looking to sample the gameplay can currently download a free demo on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, which introduces the protagonist’s initial mission.

Ariana and the Elder Codex centers on a Librarian named Ariana, who must journey into the Seven Hero Codices to repair them after they were mysteriously altered. This damage has caused magic to vanish from the world, and Ariana is the only one capable of using Librarian magic to enter the books and restore their contents.
The gameplay experience revolves around exploring these altered tomes and engaging in platforming and combat challenges. As players navigate the world, they can discover over 30 unlockable spells and abilities. These can be mapped to six available slots, allowing for different combinations to suit various combat styles. Finding and clearing Repair Points is a core mechanic, with faster completion times yielding permanent health boosts and other benefits for the character.
In addition to standard enemies, players will encounter specific guardians protecting the altered Codices. These boss encounters require precise timing and dodging to overcome their various spell patterns. To assist in these battles, players can craft and equip Magic Items that offer passive buffs. These items can improve statistics such as critical hit chances or provide utility effects like reduced knockback and elemental resistances.
