Allen The Alien Joins Invincible VS Roster Ahead Of April Open Beta

Skybound Entertainment and its development studio Quarter Up have revealed that Allen the Alien will be a playable character in their upcoming 3v3 tag fighting game, Invincible VS. Alongside the character announcement, the studios confirmed that an Open Beta for the title will commence on the PlayStation 5 starting 9 April 2026. The full game is scheduled to launch later that month on 30 April 2026.

Within the lore of the franchise, Allen the Alien is the sole successful product of a Unopan breeding facility designed to create a warrior capable of fighting the Viltrumite race. Known for his humorous demeanor, he serves the Coalition of Planets and is a key ally to Invincible. In the game, Allen functions as a “Striker” class fighter. His gameplay revolves around mobility, grappling, and superhuman strength. Players can utilise his armoured stance in mix-up scenarios to bait opponents, with his mechanics designed to reward players who master his combo potential.

At launch, Invincible VS will feature a roster of 18 characters. Allen the Alien joins previously confirmed fighters such as Mark Grayson, Thula, Bulletproof, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Omni-Man, Battle Beast, Cecil Stedman, Robot, Monster Girl, Anissa, Lucan, Powerplex, and Dupli-Kate. The lineup also introduces Ella Mental, the first original character created specifically for the game.

Executive Producer of Invincible VS, Mike Willette, shared his thoughts on the character’s inclusion and how his personality translates to the game:

Allen the Alien is everyone’s favourite extraterrestrial. He’s a fan-favourite for a reason, and bringing him into Invincible VS was always a given. One second he’s cracking a funny joke, the next he’s absolutely demolishing you in combat, you never quite know what you’re going to get from the guy.

Meanwhile, Co-creator of the Invincible series, Robert Kirkman, discussed the character’s upcoming appearances and his combat style in the fighting game:

Allen is an important piece of the Invincible puzzle, and he’s going to be having a huge spring between season four of the animated series and Invincible VS. He’s got the jokes, but he backs up his sharp wit with even sharper hits and leaves opponents looking like the punchline. We’re really excited to see what players can do with him in our Open Beta soon.

The upcoming Open Beta will allow players to test 10 of the launch characters. The playable roster for this testing period includes:

  • Allen the Alien
  • Atom Eve
  • Battle Beast
  • Bulletproof
  • Mark Grayson (Invincible)
  • Monster Girl
  • Omni-Man
  • Rex Splode
  • Robot
  • Thula
