2K and Firaxis Games have confirmed that Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Arcade Edition will be joining the Apple Arcade library next month. The strategy title is scheduled to launch on the subscription service on 5 February.
While the original game comes from Firaxis Games, this specific mobile adaptation has been developed by Behaviour Interactive in partnership with the original studio. The release is designed to bring the core experience of the seventh main instalment to iPhone and iPad users.
The gameplay loop remains consistent with the main series, requiring players to build an empire capable of standing the test of time. A key mechanic in Civilization VII involves ruling as a legendary leader from history and navigating through different Ages of human advancement. Players steer their narrative by selecting a new civilization to represent their empire as they transition into each new Age.
Standard 4X gameplay elements are present, including the construction of cities and architectural wonders to expand territory. Players must also manage technological breakthroughs and decide whether to conquer rival civilizations or cooperate with them while exploring the map.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Arcade Edition will be available to all Apple Arcade subscribers upon launch.
