Nacon and Cyanide Studio have released a free demo for their upcoming title, Styx: Blades of Greed. This preview is currently available on Steam for a limited time, allowing players to experience the first hour of the game before its official launch. The full title is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on 19 February 2026.
Styx: Blades of Greed represents the third installment in the series, marking the return of the goblin master in a third-person solo stealth format.
The demo introduces players to the game’s mechanics and narrative setup. It begins with Styx facing an attack from a massive golem, an encounter designed to help players familiarize themselves with the character’s controls. Following this introduction, the demo moves to “The Wall,” one of the game’s key environments. Here, the objective is to locate Captain Irving, identified as the only dwarf in the region capable of piloting a zeppelin.
During this mission, players must navigate around the Inquisition, a faction that is monitoring the rogue captain. The gameplay in The Wall emphasizes player choice, with multiple potential solutions to stealth puzzles. Players can utilize various tools and powers to sneak past, trap, or assassinate enemies. The developers state that all of Styx’s abilities and tools will be accessible in the final game.
For those who choose to download the trial, the developers have confirmed that save data from the demo will be transferable to the full version of the game upon release.
