Australian developer Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital have officially released the latest major expansion for Cult of the Lamb. Titled Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven, the expansion can be purchased for $24.99 AUD on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The narrative of Woolhaven takes players to a mysterious mountain following a call from a lost entity. The storyline focuses on rebuilding the fallen town of Woolhaven and uncovering the history of lambkind. The ultimate goal is to restore the depleted power of Yngya, the forgotten God of the lambs, though redeeming souls on the mountain may come at a cost to the wider game world.
This expansion introduces several new gameplay mechanics centered on survival and management. Players must now contend with harsh weather conditions, including blizzards and freezing temperatures. To ensure the survival of the cult, new structures must be constructed to provide warmth and protect followers from frostbite and famine.
In addition to weather challenges, Woolhaven unlocks a new ranching system for the cult base. Players can breed rare animals to secure resources such as wool and meat. These creatures can also be tamed and ridden, and followers can be assigned to care for them.
On the combat and exploration front, the expansion opens up a new realm battered by storms. This area includes two vast new dungeons populated by enemies corrupted by rot.
