Square Enix has released a free demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. This trial version is available right now, ahead of the full game’s launch on these platforms scheduled for 22 January 2026.
The demo allows players to experience the opening chapter of the role-playing game. The sequence features protagonist Cloud Strife and the resistance group Avalanche as they attempt to destroy a Mako Reactor within the city of Midgar. The publisher has confirmed that save data from this demo can be carried over to the full version of the game upon its release. Additionally, players who retain save data from the demo will be eligible to claim two in-game items: the Revival Earrings and the Survival Set.
In terms of the full release, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade includes the base game as well as FF7R Episode INTERmission. This additional story arc focuses on the ninja Yuffie Kisaragi as she infiltrates Midgar during the timeframe of the main campaign.
Square Enix also detailed pre-order incentives for the title. Those who pre-order the digital edition on Nintendo Switch 2 or Xbox platforms by 31 January 2026 will receive a digital copy of the original Final Fantasy VII. Xbox users can access the original game immediately after pre-ordering, whereas Nintendo Switch 2 users will gain access when Intergrade launches on 22 January 2026. Meanwhile for physical collectors, pre-ordering the physical edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 from select retailers grants a Magic: The Gathering—Final Fantasy Play Booster, while supplies last. Each booster pack contains 15 randomly assorted cards.
