Ubisoft has announced From the Ashes, an action adventure expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, set to launch on 19 December across Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In Australia and New Zealand, the expansion arrives the day after the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Developed by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, From the Ashes returns players to a section of the Western Frontier including the Kinglor Forest and introduces a brand new region. The story follows So’lek of the Trr’ong clan, a veteran Na’vi warrior ambushed by the RDA and their new allies known as the Ash clan, who awakens to devastation and sets out to protect and reunite his scattered Sarentu family.
Ubisoft confirmed two purchase routes. Existing owners can buy the expansion standalone for $39.95 AUD, while newcomers can opt for the From the Ashes Edition at $59.95 AUD that bundles the base game with the expansion and includes the Floating Mountains bonus content, three banshee color patterns inspired by the Valley of Mo’ara. The bonus will be granted to those who preorder the expansion or purchase the edition.
Ahead of the expansion, the main game will receive a 3rd Person Update on 5 December, adding New Game Plus and a third person camera mode, two of the most requested community features.
The expansion’s creative director, Omar Bouali, says the team is aiming for a darker, more personal chapter with mechanical additions to match:
