PQube has confirmed that Discounty, their recently released narrative-driven supermarket sim from indie studio Crinkle Cut Games, has sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide since its launch the week before last.
Crinkle Cut Games developed Discounty with a core team of five, and the studio plans to build on the game’s momentum with ongoing updates, quality of life improvements, and new features that aim to expand endgame depth and replayability. Ian Stewart, Communications Director for Crinkle Cut Games shared:
We are so thrilled with the community’s response to the game, and thanks to them it’s only going to get better! Because of their support we can continue developing free content updates in the months to come (and beyond!), and we have a lot of cool things planned to expand the endgame and add replayability that our community is absolutely going to love.
Set in the seaside town of Blomkest, Discounty blends laid-back store management with small-town drama and offbeat humour. Players inherit a modest supermarket and work to stock shelves, strike trade deals, customise layouts, and keep customers happy while building relationships with the locals.
Discounty is available digitally for $19.99 USD or local equivalent on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox consoles, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
