Players looking for some more wholesome gaming now have a new reason to log in, as Sunblink and Sanrio prepare to launch a new in-game event for Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Starting today, the Friendship Festival will roll out across platforms including Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Apple Arcade, bringing with it celebrations tied to multiple anniversaries within the Sanrio universe.
The festival marks a few significant milestones for the franchise: the two-year anniversary of Hello Kitty Island Adventure itself, alongside the 20th anniversary of Kuromi and the 50th anniversary of My Melody. Players can expect themed content that reflects both characters’ unique styles, with a particular emphasis on Kuromi’s signature mischievous flair.
One of the highlights of the event will take players to the Spooky Swamp. Running from 27 July to 23 August 2025, this special activity allows players to uncover what Kuromi has been up to, with opportunities to snap selfies, collect Friendship Charms, and exchange them at the Friendship Stage for themed Art Deco decorations. Players can also try out a set of new recipes – both sweet and spooky – in celebration of friendship.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is now available on Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Apple Arcade. A PlayStation 5 release is also on the horizon.
