HoYoverse will usher in the height of summer with Version 5.8 on 30 July, opening the doors to Easybreeze Holiday Resort, debuting Electro newcomer Ineffa, and rolling out fresh wardrobe options for Bennett and Yelan.
Set just off Natlan’s western coastline, Easybreeze Holiday Resort is a permanent island map brimming with relaxed mini-games and colourful secrets – contrasted against other similar summer event locales which have been accessible for only one patch cycle. Bennett, Chasca, Mualani and even Venti headline the new story quest “Sunspray Summer Resort”, while the resort mascot Asha lends players saurian-style traversal tricks such as water-skimming glides and brief mid-air hovers. Anyone keen to dig a little deeper can descend into Mare Jivari to face Bakunawa, an ageless beast guarding the resort’s darker mysteries.
Bite-sized events pepper the island, from guiding Kau Kau and Akamai to paint-splattering treasure hunts. Clearing activities awards Sunspray Spirit, which can be exchanged for the exclusive four-star claymore Flame-Forged Insight and Bennett’s fiery outfit “Adventures in Blazing Hue”. Oh, and Primogems, of course there are primogems.
Version 5.8 also kicks off the multi-update arc “Song of the Welkin Moon”. The opening chapter, “The Journey Home”, introduces Ineffa, the first representative of the far-flung region Nod-Krai. She is also set to make her playable debut in this update as well. On the battlefield she functions as a five-star Electro polearm user who transforms any Electro-Charged reaction into the new Lunar-Charged variant, summoning a persistent Thundercloud that rains Electro damage – and can crit – on foes marked by both Electro and Hydro. Her kit includes a personal shield and the Birgitta assist drone, which dashes into clustered enemies for additional area damage when a Thundercloud is present.
Ineffa shares the first banner phase with a rerun of Citlali, while the latter half brings back Mualani and Chasca. Away from Natlan, Liyue’s covert agent Yelan adopts a Fontaine-inspired disguise in the “Tranquil Banquet” outfit, available at a time-limited discount and paired with a special camera gadget for tracking hidden evidence.
Quality-of-life tweaks round out the patch. Character trial and talent menus now feature cloud-streamed tutorial clips, quest navigation can auto-jump the in-game clock to the proper time, and an upgraded specialty tracker highlights which party members can spot local materials in each nation.
