TRON: Catalyst, a new title set in the world of Disney’s TRON, is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Bithell Games and published under Devolver Digital’s label Big Fan, the game is priced at $24.99 USD or local equivalent.
Created in collaboration with Disney and Pixar Games, TRON: Catalyst sets out to continue the franchise’s legacy of combining high-tech aesthetics with philosophical narratives, placing players into a decaying digital world abandoned by its creator. The story introduces Exo, a courier turned reluctant hero, after a mysterious package detonates and imbues her with unexpected powers. Her journey is marked by confrontation with peacekeeping forces and exploration of the secrets that lie within the Arq Grid – a new area in the TRON universe.
Gameplay combines fast-paced, isometric combat with time-looping mechanics. Players use Exo’s glitch ability to rewind time, offering a tactical edge in battles and puzzle-solving. Combat takes place both on foot and aboard Light Cycles, with players able to parry attacks, execute Disc Kicks, and gather Data Shards to unlock new abilities through Exo’s upgradeable code base.
The game also promises a deeper narrative experience, following Exo as she unravels the mystery behind the glitch disrupting the Grid, all while pursued by a malevolent agent known as Conn. As the plot unfolds, Exo is forced not just to survive, but to break free from the digital loop threatening to trap her forever.
