Newest Entry in AI: The Somnium Files Series Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 Release

After recently announcing the game for other platforms, Spike Chunsoft has confirmed that No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files will also be released on the Nintendo Switch 2. The title is scheduled to launch on 25 July 2025 and will be priced in line with its Nintendo Switch and Steam counterparts.

No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files continues the narrative of the acclaimed detective adventure series. Players once again take on the role of Kaname Date, who is joined by the AI-Ball Aiba in a new case involving the abduction of internet idol Iris Sagan, also known as A-set. Iris has been forced into a high-stakes escape game, and it falls to Date and Aiba to unravel the mystery.

In addition to the returning gameplay segments “Investigation” and “Somnium”, this new entry introduces a third element: “Escape”. Players will now engage in escape room-style puzzles to progress through locked environments. Shifting between all three segments will be key to uncovering clues and solving the overarching case.

The story picks up following the events of The New Cyclops Serial Killings. Iris Sagan is abducted under mysterious circumstances involving a UFO and compelled to take part in a challenge known as The Third Eye Game. Simultaneously, a strange device resembling a coffin is found elsewhere in the city, bearing a note that reads:

“Psync Me”

With only a fragile link to the missing Iris, Special Agent Kaname Date takes up the investigation once again, determined to uncover the truth behind the inexplicable events and track down the UFO. Assisting him on this journey is his ever-present partner, Aiba.
