Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 Confirmed for Nintendo Switch Release in Asia

While Idea Factory International is set to offer a collection of all three Re;Birth games in North America, Europe and ANZ this year for the PlayStation 4, planned releases on the Nintendo Switch were postponed and later cancelled “due to the contents [… of the games …] not complying with the Nintendo Guidelines”. However, the series is not down and out for the Nintendo Switch, with EastAsiaSoft today confirming their plans to release Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 for Nintendo Switch in Asia. This release will include English and Traditional Chinese text as well as voiceovers in English and Japanese – in addition to a range of previously released downloadable content included as part of the base game.

This is the latest partnership around Compile Heart developed games, following Nintendo Switch re-releases of Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls 2 on the Nintendo Switch in recent years. I would imagine that if the release of Re;Birth1 is successful enough, the other two titles will also eventually be available from EastAsiaSoft.

In Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, players guide Neptune and other CPU goddesses through the world of Gamindustri in a role-playing game that features 3D combat, dungeon exploration, equipment crafting, and systems that allow players to customise their experience. The game is known for its light-hearted tone and frequent fourth-wall-breaking humour. It is an enhanced and reimagined version of the original Hyperdimension Neptunia released exclusively for the PlayStation 3.

Physical editions for the Nintendo Switch will be available for pre-order through online retailer Playasia starting Thursday, 1 May at 11:00pm Hong Kong time. A Limited Edition set, priced at US$59.99 plus shipping, will include the game, manual, soundtrack CD, art book, Joy-Con stickers, mini case, acrylic standees, and a numbered certificate, all housed in a collector’s box. Only 2,000 Limited Editions will be produced, with no future reprint planned. Standard physical copies will also be available for US$39.99.

Following its release, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 will also be available through select retail partners across Asia.
