Developers Frozen Way and GameFormatic have announced a major visual update for their upcoming life simulation title Campus Life. Featuring a redesigned character art style with a more realistic aesthetic, the update will debut during Digital Dragons 2025, taking place from 18 to 20 May in Krakow, Poland.
Following the event, the first public playtests for Campus Life will launch on Steam in late May or early June, giving players a chance to explore the revamped visuals and new content firsthand.
Set in a world inspired by American college life in the early 2000s, Campus Life is an isometric life simulator that places players in control of a freshman student whose path is entirely shaped by their decisions. Whether pursuing academic excellence, athletic achievement, or social popularity, players will guide their character over four years of university life, balancing studies, extracurriculars, work, and relaxation.
Players begin by creating a custom student through a character creator: choosing traits, background, goals, and appearance. Goals influence the overarching direction of gameplay, covering everything from academic success to artistic performance or social immersion. Throughout the game, characters develop Traits that grant passive bonuses, and must manage Statistics such as Mind, Body, and Creativity, as well as fluctuating levels of Energy and Joy.
Campus Life also introduces a variety of Skills that are honed through campus activities and used in challenges such as sports competitions or theatre performances. A dynamic relationship system with non-playable characters and multiple optional quests further enhance the game’s replay value, ensuring varied experiences with each playthrough.
