UK-based publisher Kwalee and independent developer Inzanity have released a free Spring Update for their roguelite rhythm shooter ROBOBEAT on PC. This update introduces a new room type called “Virus”, seeking to offer players a high-risk, high-reward challenge. In these rooms, players can wager their health in exchange for powerful rewards, choosing from three high-tier weapons or utilities.
In addition to the new room type, the update adds a Cheats menu to the game. This feature gives players expanded control, allowing them to equip any weapon or utility, spawn specific enemies, and access special room types for customised gameplay experiences.
Available on PC, ROBOBEAT puts players in the role of Ace, a bounty hunter tracking the eccentric robot-showman Frazzer through a procedurally generated, rhythm-driven world. The gameplay seeks to encourage players to move and shoot in sync with the music, rewarding precision and timing with enhanced effects such as damage multipliers and reduced cooldowns. Players can use the game’s custom music feature to upload their own tracks in .wav, .mp3, or .ogg formats, with in-game editing support. The system automatically generates beatmaps to match each song, adapting gameplay to the player’s chosen rhythm.
