Unknown 9: Awakening, a narrative-driven action-adventure game, is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Developed by Reflector Entertainment and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game takes players on a journey at the turn of the 20th century, following a globetrotting mission to prevent secret knowledge from falling into dangerous hands.
The game’s protagonist, Haroona, is portrayed by actress Anya Chalotra in her first video game role. Haroona is a Quaestor with the ability to access the Fold, a mysterious dimension overlapping our world. As she seeks hidden knowledge and learns to harness her connection to the Fold, she becomes a target for the Ascendants, a rogue faction of the Leap Year Society. This secret organisation aims to use the Fold to change the course of human history.
Players will need to master Haroona’s unique abilities to defeat the Ascendants and fulfill her quest for revenge. Combat can range from stealthy ambushes to direct melee attacks, with Haroona able to take control of enemies’ bodies, dodge bullets, and perform a variety of combat combinations to ensure victory.
Unknown 9: Awakening also serves as the main entry point to the wider Unknown 9 universe, which includes interconnected stories across web series, comic books, podcasts, and novels.
