The first major post-launch content release for Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail expansion is set to go live in mid-November 2024, with more specifics shared about Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.1: Crossroads shared during the most recent Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast, streamed live from Tokyo Game Show 2024.
This update is set to introduce a range of new content, including those typical of an x.1 update. One of the big inclusions is the first instalment in a new Alliance Raid series, this time aligned with Final Fantasy XI – the latest in a series of crossovers around this raid series, which previously included Final Fantasy XII (Stormblood) and Nier: Automata (Shadowbringers). Titled “Echoes of Vana’diel,” this 24-player raid marks the start of a new raid series, offering players the chance to explore the world of Vana’diel.
In addition to this crossover raid, Patch 7.1 will introduce the first-ever high-difficulty 24-player alliance raid, “The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic),” along with a host of other high-level battle content. This includes a new trial, unreal trial, and ultimate raid, catering to players of varying levels of expertise.
