While the Global and Taiwan servers of SINoALICE closed 2022 and 2023 respectively, the original Japanese servers, launched in 2017, have remained in service a few months more. However, the servers are set to close on 15 January 2024 at 11:59am JST. But thankfully unlike the other servers which were behind content-wise and had an alternate ending shoehorned in, Pokelabo and the game’s development team have been able to write in a proper ending to the game’s narrative, and a few surprises as well.
This is just a reminder that there are only a few more days for those with Japanese accounts to complete the game, engrave their final message, and gain access to a special version of the app, The Story That Was Once SINoALICE (シノアリスだったナニカ) which will allow players to preserve some of their account data past the game’s end of service as a sort of archive / memorial of their account and journey through the game.
If this sounds of interest and you have an account, you can jump straight forward to the final chapter using a special cheat code. Furthermore, while a guild is required to complete the very final episode, single-player guilds can be created for this purpose.
There is some concern about everyone rushing to complete the game at the last minute, as completion does lock you out of the game in its entirety (in return, gaining access to The Story That Was One SINoALICE). Therefore, you are encouraged to do this sooner rather than later – with the final chapter taking a solid hour or so to complete. Saving this until the last minute may see players faced with temporary login restrictions.
Developed by Pokelabo and published by Square Enix in Japan (and Pokelabo in other regions), SINoALICE is, and soon was, a smartphone exclusive RPG directed by Yoko Taro, acclaimed for his work on major games including NieR, NieR: Automata and the Drakengard series.
